Colored Winter WIP

Okay. Remember the entry I put into =WinterBlueArt's coloring contest? I didn't win, but that didn't stop me from trying to finish what I started. So, here's the ALMOST finished WIP of what I started.

The BG currently exists in four layers: ground, fore mountains, aft mountains and stars, and sky. The sky is a simple lateral gradient, but it actually works quite well.

Now, keep in mind that I don't know anything about the "advanced" features of Photoshop. Puhleeze! I have Photoshop Elements 2.0.

Anyhow, that orange crack was made by changing the attributes of the brush tool. I added a 25% ellipse at about 15° angle, and I added a li'l scatter and color waiver. And Bob's your uncle! I got a convincing crack!

The mountains are a lot simpler, and the method I used was inspired by a mountainous pic by *machine-guts: [link]

Anyhow, all I have left to do is add the moon and make the ground look all... plastic. Sure could use tips on how to do that there.
