Well, it's that time of year again. Time for school (finally). I'm writing this journal from my laptop on my bed right now since my room's desk is a hopeless clutter and I'm dreading having to put my desktop back together.

This also means I'm back on the dreaded ResNet. -_-

Oh well. Can't do anything much about it except endure it. At the very least, I don't have a roommate to be considerate of this year, so I can actually rise early on the weekends and be noisy.

And my dorm room is big enough to host the occasional get-together of friends.


Some of you may have noticed that I have a ticker in my journal's footer. You may be wondering, "What is it for?"

Well, I'll tell y'all what it's for.

AnthroCon 2009 is going to be in Pittsburgh, PA again next July 2-5. I did a bunch of math to myself and figured out that if I had $1500, I could hop a Greyhound bus up to Pitts. and sleep in a $30/night motel for the five nights I'd need to be able to attend AC09.

And I found out that if I worked weekends and during Christmas break, I could easily save up that $1500.

I'm not saying I am going until I reach the target goal of $1500. But I am saying that I reeeeally really wanna go to AC09. It'll be my one chance next year to go on a fun trip beyond the Tennessee state border.

So, I'm counting down the months, days, and weeks to AC09, and saving up all the dollars and cents that I can, and hoping beyond all hopes that the dream is realized.
