I just finished creating my own chatroom titled #StarRP. [link]

In essence, it's an RP room, but casual chat is encouraged. If there's an active RP, then the casual chat can manifest in the form of character-character dialogue. If there's no active RP, then it's just a casual chatroom. If you wanna run your own li'l 1,2,3-person RP's in there, have at it. That's what this room is for.

1. Please bear in mind that FAQ #573: What rules apply to Unofficial Chatrooms on dAmn? applies to this chatroom, and that the administrators of this chatroom will enforce dA policy without mercy. These are dA policy, and as such, it's expected that you already know these rules and abide by them.
2. Be nice. (how boring )
3. Asking ASL--a.k.a. Age, sex, location--is allowed, but be forewarned that the accuracy of the answer you receive is purely up to the person to whom your question is directed.
4. Do not spam. Spam can be one of two things: it can be a totally gross preprocessed lunch meat, or it can be excessive posting of the same object (such as an emote) or random gobbledygook.
5. You can stretch a bit. Sometimes, a few extra letters or punctuation marks are necessary, but there are times when enough is enough. So, here's a fair limit: you can stretch any single character no more than ten times.
6.NO MASS CAPITALS!!! IT IS CRUDE, RUDE, AND THE CYBER EQUIVALENT OF SHOUTING!!!!! Proper English and proper capitalization is just fine, and not only that, but the html codes for italic, bold, and underline work wonders for emphasizing words or phrases, and they work better than all caps! See FAQ #104: What HTML formatting can we use on deviantART? And what is the format for these codes? for the chat codes.
7. It is highly preferable that you use English in this chatroom, and that you at least use basic, basic punctuation (,.?!;""). You don't have to be an English major to chat here, but I would appreciate, at the very least, some appropriately placed periods and commas.
8. Please, please (I'm begging you!!!) have fun! However, I must also ask that everything be kept at PG-13. Some blood and gore is acceptable, I won't put up with obscenities every other word (even though I curse myself >_> ), and I will not condone blatant sexual/nude content; even though this is a chatroom. Hinting at nudity and the like is acceptible since they do it all the time on TV.
9. Cybering (a.k.a. cyber-sex) and the like is strictly prohibited. You can have fun RPing love scenes (or bondage sessions depending on the circumstances) without making things R-rated. It’s called self-control.
10. If there's an RP topic up in the top, please RP to it. If not, then just have fun in general.
11. If there is an RP going on, and you wish to engage in casual chat, place it within [brackets], {braces}, or ((double parentheses)) to help distinguish between RPing and chatting. If there is no RP going on, then the brackets/braces/parentheses aren't required.
     11-b.If you don’t want to talk OOC (out of context) over the RP, then give #Seabeast (affiliate chat owned and run by =Tyrin-Claw) a try.
12. NO GOD MODE-ING!! God-like abilities are very unfair. Please, please, please... if you insist on being nearly invincible, then at least give your character a foible, or fatal flaw, that balances out the rest of his/her/its superiority. Complex personalities are encouraged. They make for better, more exciting RP's.
13. You can promote your own chatroom (if you have one) only ONCE. However (and you didn't hear this from me ), you can mention your chatroom in casual conversation as long as it doesn't sound like shameless promotion to my room's admins and ops.
14. NO BOTS!! If there will ever be a bot in #StarRP, it will be either one of my own creation, or an approved bot that will not cause trouble. Currently, bots are not allowed at all in #StarRP. I simply just don't have the time to manage one or make sure it behaves.



I, *dragon-architect (a.k.a. Calyo Delphi), reserve the right to alter these rules as necessary. You are solely responsible for your own actions, and are solely responsible for following these rules. Yes, I may be lenient and a little forgiving, and may allow the rules to be bent to an extent (depending on my own mood), but at some point, enough is enough and the rules need to be enforced. I take no pleasure in enforcing the rules and being the adult because I, too, like to have fun and I created this chatroom specifically for fun, but I will not hesitate to take any and all necessary action. Any and all members that can promote, demote, kick, ban, etc. are also responsible for enforcing the rules, and I am not responsible for their immediate interpretation of the rules or their immediate actions. Any disputes on the actions of any officials in my chatroom may be brought to me via note. Do not comment on my journal/userpage/etc. or e-mail me about the problems because they will be mercilessly ignored.

Buffer zone: If you unintentionally break a rule, you're reminded (politely of course ) of the rule's existence and will be encouraged to read the above rules as well. If you break the rule again a short time later, the following punishments will be enforced. However, if it has been a long time since the unintentional infraction, I may be persuaded to just leave you be with a stern warning. I want to be a nice guy, and I want members/guests to enjoy their stay, but rules are rules; no ifs, ands, or buts about it. You don’t like it, tuff puff.
First time offense: You get demoted to cadet. This privilege class is below Ensign. You can still post messages, but you cannot emote, you cannot thumb, and you cannot icon ppl.
Second offense: You get suspended. Basically, that means I've taken away your right to talk. In my chatroom, being able to actively participate in chat and rp's is a privilege. I reserve the right to suspend the privilege at any time. You can still join, but you've been muted. If I, or the other two admins, decide to pull you out of suspension, you will be promoted to the rank of cadet until you can abide by the above rules. Only then will you regain the privilege to post emotes and thumbs.
Third offense: You get thrown in the brig. You're banned. You can't join chat--period. If you continue to break rules after being promoted from suspension, you will not be silenced. You will be barred from the room. Period. If you think you were unfairly banned, you can note me and I will gladly look back over the situation, but don't count on me to change my mind. I will not make a promise I can't keep. If the ban-er in question had good reason to ban you, the ban stays until I have deemed it appropriate to lift the ban. Once you're unbanned, you're a cadet, which is the punishment for first offense until you have proven that you can behave and abide by the rules. Bear in mind that only I, the Captain, reserve the right and sole authority for lifting any and all bans. Any unban requests from lower ranks must be forwarded through me first either in chat or via the note system.
